In Santa Cruz County, where 1 in 3 children face hunger, many young students miss out on the experience of opening their lunchbox to a healthy meal. As our children return to school, thousands of families struggle to make ends meet—and many kids are returning to the classroom hungry. These students are often overwhelmed and have difficulty concentrating or learning new ideas.

Your support is what makes programs like Food For Children possible. Thanks to donors like you, we reach more than 85,000 people each month, ensuring that individuals, families, and children have the nutritious food they need. As we look to the school year ahead, let’s equip our kids with the food they need to grow and learn.

Growing up hungry makes growing up hard, but with your generosity, we can ensure that every child has the fuel they need to start the school year strong. As kids head back to school, let’s ensure they have the nourishment they need to thrive.

With your support, they’ll be ready to excel when the school bell rings!

P.S.Every dollar equals four healthy meals for kids starting school,

and becoming a monthly donor ensures kids have enough food all year.

You are taking a stand against hunger in Santa Cruz County by making a gift!
